Agios Patapios
A remote pebble beach at the south-western tip of the island, near the chapel of St Patapios. Most people arrive by boat.
St Patapios beach lies at the south-western tip of Elafonisos, beyond Panagia, looking out to Cape Tainaro. It takes its name from the chapel of St Patapios that stands nearby. It is the only beach on the island with pebbles instead of sand.
Getting there
Most visitors come by boat. On land there is a rough sandy track that starts from Avlaki at Panagia. Bring water, a hat and proper shoes.
What you will see
A small islet sits just offshore. Grooves of ancient cart roads can be seen in the rocks, running down into the sea.
