Lefki
A small, sheltered bay on the east side of the island, with white sand, rocks and a rich seabed.
Lefki lies on the east coast, on the road from the village to Simos. It is a small beach where white sand meets rocks and the water turns emerald green.
What you will see
The whole bay comes into view from the highest point of the road from the village, and the view is worth a stop. The rocky seabed is one of the most interesting on the island for snorkelling.
A little history
Bronze Age pottery fragments have been found on the neck of the cape, and local tradition places an ancient temple of Apollo nearby. The name most likely comes from the white sand or from the smooth white stones on the shore.
Good to know
When the wind blows from the south, Lefki is one of the calmest spots on the island, so boats often anchor in its bay.
