Megalo Tigani

The harbour bay where the ferries dock, with cafés and tavernas right by the water.

Megalo Tigani (“big frying pan”) lies at the south-eastern edge of the village and takes its name from its shape. This crystal-clear beach with fine white sand is also the harbour where the ferries from Pounta dock.

Because of the ferry traffic tourists rarely swim, locals still do as they have been doing for decades, as the limited harbour is open, the waters are very clear.

Good to know

There is no parking in Megalo Tigani area for those who cross with a car, parking is strictly limited only within the harbour area and not permitted on the beach itself.

No area around the Megalo Tigani beach can be used for parking.
