Simos
The best-known beach on the island: fine white sand, shallow turquoise water and a sand strip leading to Sarakiniko.
Simos is the beach that made Elafonisos famous. Two beaches, Small and Big Simos, with fine white sand and dunes with natural vegetation. The water is shallow and clear, in shades from pale turquoise to deep blue.
What you will see
Between them the cape of Sarakiniko joins the two beaches with a narrow strip of sand, and on windy days the sea fills with white waves. Some sections have umbrellas and sunbeds, while others stay natural and quiet.
Good to know
In summer the beach gets busy, especially in August; mornings, June and September are calmer. Please protect the dunes and do not walk on the vegetation.
